Sentence Starters (i-space)

Varying Your Sentence Starters- Try these!!! These techniques must start right at the beginning of each sentence (see examples below).

 

 

i  -ing word 

Jumping quickly over the hedge, I made it to the main building.

S  simile 

As quick as a bolt of lightning, I scaled the wall of the bunker.

P  preposition 

Underneath the secret lair, I shimmied along the piping.

A  adverb 

Cautiously, I approached the secret building.

C  connective 

Due to the guards being heavily armed, I had to sneak in the back.

E  -ed word 

Distracted by my smoke bomb, the guards didn’t see me sneak past.
